I want to take this time out, for the letter K, for you to stop Kvetching and instead give yourself some KUDOS. You are a good person. You are a good parent. You have a lot to offer your children and to yourself. Taking care of yourself as a person, who is also a parent, must be at the top of your daily to-do list. I want you to read the following kudos (affirmations, positive thoughts, self-talk) out loud to yourself and believe that each one is true:
-I am a great parent, not just a good one.
-I am learning to be an even better parent, but I take it day by day.
-I know my child and I try to provide what my child needs...making sure not to give them everything they want.
-I always try to make sure that my spouse and I are always on the same page.
-I support all of my friends and family in the manner in which they choose to parent as well.
-I love being a mom/dad/caregiver to my child(ren).
-I make sure that I am healthy so that I am there for my child in the best way I can be.
-I love that my home is a sanctuary of calm and joy.
-I am grateful for the support I ask for and receive from others.
If you are still reading this, then kudos to you for reading these articles each week and continuously seeking to be a better parent, better spouse, and better YOU! KUDOS to YOU!!
