Rainy days can be a drag, especially for young children who are stuck inside all day. But with a little creativity and some indoor activities, rainy days can be just as fun as sunny ones.
Here are ten rainy day activities for preschoolers to help them stay entertained and engaged:
Make a fort — Use blankets, pillows, and chairs to create a cozy hideaway for your child. This activity encourages creativity and helps your child practice problem-solving skills.

Play dress-up — Dig out your child’s old costumes or let them create their own outfits using whatever they can find around the house. Dress-up play allows children to use their imagination and express themselves.
Have a dance party — Put on some music and let your child dance to their heart’s content. Dance parties are a fun way to get some energy out and have fun at the same time.

Do a puzzle — Puzzles are a great way to improve fine motor skills and concentration. You can find puzzles specifically designed for young children or make your own by cutting out pictures from old magazines.
Play with play dough — Play dough is a classic rainy day activity that never gets old. It’s easy to make your own play dough at home, or you can purchase it at a store. Play dough is great for building fine motor skills and creativity.
Have a tea party — Set up a tea party for your child and their stuffed animals or dolls. This activity encourages role play and social skills.

Do some arts and crafts — Pull out the crayons, markers, and construction paper and let your child create their own masterpieces. Arts and crafts activities are a great way to improve creativity and fine motor skills.
Play hide and seek — This classic game is always a hit with young children. It helps improve gross motor skills and problem-solving skills.
Have a picnic — Bring the outdoors inside by having a picnic in your living room. Spread out a blanket and let your child choose their favorite snacks to enjoy.
Read a book — Reading is a great way to improve language skills and imagination. Choose a book with colorful illustrations and encourage your child to make up their own story.

Rainy days don’t have to be a drag. With these ten activities, your preschooler will have plenty to keep them entertained and engaged!
