The challenge

For Little Sunshines Playhouse, safety across the board is non-negotiable. That means knowing where every child is, who they’re with, and having critical info accessible in an instant.

“First and foremost, it’s about safety and security,” said Kayla Snodgrass, Systems Coordinator. “We need to know where kids are at all times, that they’re in the right places, with the right teachers.”

With 40+ schools across the country and some centers serving more than 140 children, tracking everything on paper like attendance, diaper logs, and daily check-ins quickly became inefficient and error-prone. Their first attempt at software was unreliable and made things harder, not easier.

Growth wasn’t slowing anytime soon, so they needed a more efficient and dependable system that could support new locations and keep daily operations running smoothly.

The solution

Little Sunshines Playhouse turned to Playground to streamline every piece of their daily operations—from diaper changes and meal tracking to enrollment and parent communication.

“We use Playground for everything now. The enrollment process especially has been a game changer,” Kayla said. “It’s so simple and customizable. As soon as a family is marked as enrolled, we know all the steps have been followed.” Playground also helps keep things consistent as the team scales across state lines. They can duplicate sites easily, customize settings for each location, and launch new schools without starting from scratch.

Playground has helped cut down setup time, reduce administrative stress, and build stronger relationships with families—all while maintaining the high standards they’re known for. “We can update parents in real-time”, said the team. Most importantly, Little Sunshines Playhouse now has the tools to grow with confidence; knowing they can stay organized, compliant, and focused on delivering quality care.
