Corn- Such a versatile subject for a Thanksgiving lesson. It can be used for everything from math to art! For example, did you know that there are over 3,000 types of corn? That’s a lot of corn! Use this fact to help your students with math concepts like grouping and sorting.
Leaves- This another great lesson plan for November packed with crafts and nature related crafts. For example, gather one leaf each on an adventure outdoors, bring them back to sort by similarities in the classroom. Pumpkins- This fall vegetable represents giving thanks and embraces the holiday season. Both educational and artistic, there are endless possibilities with a pumpkin lesson plan. For example, a pumpkin doesn’t have to go to waste after Halloween! Instead, use it as a science experiment for your students. They can track the changes in color and shape of the pumpkin throughout the month as it decomposes.
Generosity and Giving Back- Talk to your students about what it means to give back and what it means to be generous. Have a discussion about people or organizations that give back and why it’s important. Using books and videos to help explain what it means to give back will help your kids understand.
